COLOURS OF BERALA

Our annual Colours of Berala day will be held on Tuesday 2 August. This year our school will be taking the theme of Our Community: Together is Better.

This day is a very special day in the Berala School's calendar when our community all come together to celebrate our cultural diversity. It is a day of pride when we can share our different cultures and experiences.

On this day, students are asked to wear clothing from their various cultural backgrounds. We welcome all parents, carers, family and community members to our celebrations. You are also welcome to wear clothing from your cultural background on the day.

Many of our performing groups, cultural groups, classes and individual students will present and perform items.  We are including a Flag Presentation for this year's celebration. Our teachers are currently working on activities in class to promote our theme of Our Community: Together is Better. These activities will include artwork, poetry, photography and stories. Some of this work will be displayed in our Hall and we will share some of our student's written work on our Website and through our Facebook page.

This year, we would like to start to compile a Colours of Berala Recipe Book (Our Community Cooking Together!).  If you have a favourite recipe that we can include in our Recipe Book please hand it in at the Office. We will print and bind the Recipe Book. The books will be available for purchase a little later in the year. The proceeds of the book will go toward cultural activities at our school.
