About our school

Berala Public School was opened in 1924. It is one of the largest and most diverse primary schools in NSW. The school is situated in an expanding residential area in the inner western site in the Granville District, with 96% of all students living within the immediate boundary of the school.

The school's vision is to be a safe, caring and abundantly-resourced environment. Our school community promotes a zest for life and a passion for teaching to inspire lifelong learning and informed choices in all students.

Our purpose is to provide stimulating programs and experiences that recognise the various stages of learning and guide individual development of students towards full all-round development. Learning experiences are designed to teach the basic skills, impart knowledge and develop values necessary for an individual to live a happy and successful life. Students are taught to cope with change and contribute meaningfully to society.

Parents can expect Berala Public School to emphasise the teaching of basic skills, instilling of self-disciplined behaviour and professionalism of the school's teachers.
