About our school

Berala Public School is situated in the Chullora Network of Schools. We support the learning of approximately 711 students including 21 students in a newly established Inclusive Education Unit.

Our enrolment profile includes 97% of students with a language background other than English with our main language backgrounds being Chinese and Arabic. Our Arabic and Chinese community language program supports students in maintaining and developing further communicative competence in their home language. Our school promotes diversity and inclusion with over 60 nationalities represented at the school.

Our school enjoys strong community interest, involvement and support. Parental involvement is highly valued and the Parents and Citizens' Association plays a vital role through working in authentic partnership with the school to support school programs and improve educational outcomes for all students. We have a small number of First Nations students who are supported by a committed whole school approach to First Nations education, cultural awareness and inclusion.

Our school is driven by a shared commitment to develop and promote a caring school culture that is built and sustained on the values of excellence, collaboration, inclusivity, and respect. By working together, students, staff, and the community aim to establish an innovative educational environment that effectively meets the needs of all learners. Improving children's learning and wellbeing is at the core of our work. We ensure that every child is challenged and supported to meet their potential, no matter what stage of their learning journey.

School Vision

At Berala PS we take pride in developing strong foundations for all students so they can be engaged, resilient and successful learners. Teachers, parents and students work collaboratively to achieve excellence with a focus on student wellbeing, high expectations and academic growth. Every child is known, valued and cared for, enabling them to flourish in a respectful and inclusive environment.
